For Jewish displaced persons, freedom meant restoring and passing on their heritage and their traditions. For many, it was a return to religious life. JDC supported their synagogues and religious schools, helping to provide opportunities that matched the diverse religious needs within each camp. Residents were free to celebrate, study, and pray in keeping with their respective beliefs.
