Lens on Poland: Analyzing JDC Interwar Relief Work through Mixed Media
This presentation, delivered by Abra Cohen and Slava Mitsel on November 13, 2024, explores JDC’s activities in interwar Poland through archival film and artifacts. Rare film footage offers an eye-witness account of daily life in the region while artifacts such as photo albums, illustrated works on paper, and vocational crafts show the impact of JDC assistance during a time of upheaval.
This is the second program in the JDC Archives webinar series “Exploring the Jewish Experience in Poland from WWI to the Holocaust: Insights from the JDC Archives.”
This lecture is made possible thanks to the Miriam “Mimi” Pasternak Toubin (z”l) Public Educational Programming from the JDC Archives.
Abra Cohen is the Artifacts Curator and Outreach Coordinator of the JDC Archives.
Slava Mitsel is the Film and Photo Archivist of the JDC Archives.
